Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries, divided
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of blueberries with water, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the remaining blueberries and cook for another 8 minutes until slightly thickened but still chunky.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

You can substitute sugar with honey, stevia, or coconut sugar.

Add a splash of vanilla extract or lemon zest for flavor variation.
