🛒 Ingredients: One Pot Dirty Rice

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup long-grain rice, uncooked
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

👩‍🍳 Directions: One Pot Dirty Rice

  1. Brown the meat:
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add veggies & spices:
    Stir in onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add paprika, thyme, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add rice & broth:
    Stir in the uncooked rice and pour in the beef broth. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  4. Simmer:
    Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, until rice is cooked and liquid absorbed.
  5. Fluff & serve:
    Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, garnish with green onions, and serve hot!

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of Cajun seasoning or hot sauce.
  • Swap beef for ground turkey or sausage for different flavors.
